Carn , Killare ( A Forgotten Westmeath Famine Village)

This book examines the effects of the Famine on a small townland of Carn Co. Westmeath. The presence of an abandoned famine village on the summit of the midland hill provides the focus for analysis of the vernacular architecture and social and economic conditions of labourers and cottiers in this townland during the famine.
